Description

First real painting. Sort of learnt something, in that it feels different than lineart and the coloring, along with some others.
I need to do more environment pieces/practice/whatever.

This piece is a very eye-catching one indeed!

With it's rounded body, contrasted hues, soft shading and lighting, the design is whimsical and almost friendly looking.
The gently applied textures and subtle engravings on the shoulder-plates and halo add a pleasing sense of detail to the image.

A few things could be improved upon in here though - the red eye on the face seems too flatly done and simple, and doesn't put much of an impact on the viewer as it should, some detail on the face and eye in general might be to its benefit. Also, the background looks a bit confusing - I see hills presumably at a considerable distance behind the character but there is a shadow on the left hill that seems to be cast from the character's shoulder plate. It looks confusing. A little most depth in the background can help bring out the main focus of your character very well, rather than let in sink into the rest of the picture.

Those issues aside, it's a unique design one won't forget quite so soon, well done <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
